Who we are
We’re Jess and Kyle, a husband and wife who share a love of art and storytelling.
Kyle has spent more than 20 years in video production as the owner of The Bureau Media. Jess has been a therapist for more than a decade, sitting with people as they make sense of their lives and the stories that shaped them. Candid brings those two crafts together: the camera work to make a story beautiful, and the presence to help someone tell it honestly.
Why Candid
For most of human history, stories were how families stayed connected. Elders passed down wisdom, history and love by telling stories at the table, by the fire, and to the children at their feet. These stories taught each new generation who they were and where they came from.
Somewhere along the way, many of us lost that tradition. Our lives got busier, our families spread out, and the stories began to slip away. Too often, we only realize what we’ve lost once the voice that held those stories is gone.
Candid is inspired by the storytelling of our ancestors. We sit with the people you love, listen to their stories, and turn them into films your family can keep, so their wisdom and love live on for generations to come.
